The American Red Cross helps military members and their families get emergency money from military aid groups. The money can pay for medical care, car repair, emergency travel, or utility bills. You may get the money as a loan you pay back, a grant you keep, or both.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Who can use it: You can use this service if you are active duty military (any branch), a reservist on federal active duty, or retired from the military and getting retirement pay. Your immediate family members can also get help. The service is available in Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Lake Counties.
Languages: English on-site. Other languages by phone.
What to expect: Call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Leave a message if no one answers and someone will call you back. If you live within 50 miles of a military base, you may need to go to an appointment at that base.
What to bring: Call ahead to confirm what documents you'll need to bring.
