Heritage Home Program

A program of Cleveland Restoration Society

This program helps owners of historic homes pay for repairs and updates. You can borrow money to paint, landscape, and fix the inside and outside of your house. The loan cannot be used for vinyl siding, vinyl windows, hot tubs, swimming pools, decks, or patios. You must borrow at least $3,000.

Who can use it: Your house must be at least 50 years old and located in one of the targeted neighborhoods in Cuyahoga County, Geauga County, or Lorain County. Your property taxes must be paid up and your home must have insurance. Landlords can apply if the home has 1 to 3 units. You cannot apply if work has already started or been finished. Call or check the website for the current list of neighborhoods, as it changes often.

What to expect: Call Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, to ask questions. You can get a loan application from the website and send it back by fax, email, or mail.
