The land bank has homes available for people who want to buy and renovate them. You agree to do the renovation work within a set time period. The land bank staff will review your timeline and budget. The deed to the home is held in escrow until your renovations are complete and you get a Certificate of Occupancy.

What to expect: Contact the agency for information or an application. You must get all necessary permits, fix any Point of Sale violations, and complete the renovations within the agreed time frame. If you don't finish on time, the land bank keeps the deed and you lose the money you spent on renovations. Once renovations are done, you pay the escrow agent the purchase price, plus other items in the purchase agreement and closing fees. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
