2 1/2% Reduction Program

You get a break on your property taxes if you own and live in your home in Cuyahoga County. This reduction is free. You can only claim it on one home in Ohio.

Who can use it: You must own your home and live in it as your main home in Cuyahoga County as of January 1 of the year you apply. You and your spouse can only claim this on one home in Ohio. You can also apply late for one year you did not get the reduction.
Languages: English on-site. Other languages by phone.
What to expect: The application usually happens when you buy a home and transfer the deed. If you are not sure if you are getting the reduction, you can call for information. If you are not getting it, you can walk in to apply or ask for an application by mail. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
